Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently produce dense coagulation blocks even when solid concentration in suspension is low in a vertical wet-type grain forming machine by providing a rotary blade at the lower section of a tank, and a concentration accerelation plate at the outlet of the tank.
CONSTITUTION: In a vertical wet-type grain forming machine which forms grains from suspended material in suspension and separates them, are installed a blade 8 which causes a slight and regular swirling stream in the lower section of tank 1, and a concentration acceleration plate 10 at the outlet section 5. Suspension is charged from inlet pipe 2, and grain forming agent such as high-molecular coagulator is charged from injection pipe 3. Then, the swirling stream causes suspended material to form into coagulated blocks until they reach certain size, then blocks are destroyed and divided into small size blocks and rise upward. Since dense blocks are likely to pass the concentration acceleration plate 10 at the outlet, coagulation and separation are effected even when solid concentration in suspension is low. Thus, this simplifies the following dehydration process and reduces operation cost.
