Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain stable cooling effectiveness with a simple construction by a method wherein a corrugated dripping pan, the point of which is lowered in inner direction, is mounted on the top tower wall of air inlet.
CONSTITUTION: The base end 18 of the corrugated drip pan 15 having a number of crests 16 and valleys 17 alternately is secured with the tower wall 12 in order to allow the point 19 to incline to lower in an inner direction of the cooling tower 1. Water W dropped along the tower wall 12 flows into the drip pan 15 to drop into the water tank 10 by collecting in the valley 17. This construction enables to obtain the stable cooling effectiveness without developing water film even water volume is increased because of performing a smooth air introduction.
