Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce an excellent heat barrier effect without causing cracking or exfoliation, by providing a chromium coating layer on the surface of a turbine blade material, roughening the surface of the layer and performing melt-spraying to coat a ceramic layer on the roughened surface. CONSTITUTION:Electrolytic chromium plating 2 is performed on a turbine blade material 1 of Inconel 600, for example. Reverse electrolytic treatment is then effected in the same plating bath as the chromium plating 2 to roughen the plated surface. Zirconia powder is molten and sprayed by a plasma melt-sprayer onto the roughened surface so that a layer 3 of about 100-200mu in thickness is coated on the surface.
