Abstract

PURPOSE: To heighten ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties, by performing prescribed treatment to set the grain size of ferroelectric porcelain powder and blending the powder with a high-molecular substance.
CONSTITUTION: Raw material powder is prepared according to a desired ferroelectric porcelain composition. The powder is synthesized by heated solid reaction or sintering treatment. The synthesized material is pulverized to a desired grain size. The pulverized material is annealed under an atmosphere of higher oxygen concentration the air and then chemically etched. Innumerable domains and asymmetric phases caused by the pulverization are improved by the annealing. Single domain fine round crystal of arranged grain size is obtained by the etching. The effect of the etching can be heightened by adding mechanical dissolution such as in-liquid stirring. The single domain fine crystal is blended with a prescribed quantity of a high-molecular substance. The mixture is polarized, thereby attaining high ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties which are easily arranged in the direction of electric field because the grain size of the mixture is uniform.
