Abstract

PURPOSE: A specific melamine cyanurate is added to a polyamide resin to impart excellent flame retardancy without causing the defect of bleedout even in continuous molding and any adverse effect on basic physical properties such as impact strength and appearance such as color.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A polyamide resin is combined with (B) a melamine cyanurate having 2.0 or less intensity ratio of the diffraction at 2θ=28.0° to the other at 2θ=11.0°C by the ray of copper Kα line (1.5418Å wave length), preferably by 3W15wt%. The above-mentioned melamine cyanurate is abtianed by selecting the suitable reacting conditions as temperature, concentration etc. of aquerous solution or suspension of melamine and aquerous solution or powder of cyanuric acid.
