Abstract
PURPOSE: A polyamide resin composition that is composed of a polyamide resin, a cyanuric acid compound and a copper salt, thus giving molded products with the equal physical properties to the intrinsic ones of polymanide and good flame retardancy.
CONSTITUTION: To (A) a polyamide resin of lower than 250°C softening point are added (B) 0.5 W 20 wt% of hihg-purity cyanuric acid with an average particle size of less than 200 mircons that is given as formula I and/or II (R are H or lower alkyls which may be different from each other) and (C) 0.005 W 2 wt% of a copper salt as copper chloride or copper acetate, wherein the weight ratio of (B)/ (C) is adjusted to 0.01 W 0.1.
EFFECT: Resulting composition gives molded products which evolve reduced amounts of smoke on burning, have excellent flame retardancy of V - 0 according to UL - 94 standard and high impact and tensile strength.
