Abstract
PURPOSE:To oscillate arc within narrow groove and ease the monitoring of weld zone by passing the wire being sent out from conduit end through a pair of oscillating rollers and a pair of feed rollers thereby giving waveform plastic deformation thereto. CONSTITUTION:The end part 8a of the conduit 8 which sends out a wire to above the axial center of a contact tube 5 is fixed to a frame 15. The wire 1 being sent out from this end part 8a is passed between a pair of oscillating rollers 9a, 9b, thence it is supplied between a pair of feed rollers 4a, 4b which are mounted to a frame 15 and are driven by an electric motor. The width W of the path 21 in a contact tube 5 is smaller than the amplitude of the waveforms of the wire 1 and gives the deformation within the elastic limit and therefore the wire 1 spreads sufficiently toward the groove side wall 22 or closes thereto when it spreads out from the tube end 5a, thereby holding the necessary arc. The arc reciprocates within the narrow groove, thereby forming good quality beads.
