Abstract
PURPOSE:To connect positively cells with high liquid tightness by making the inner diameter of a through hole of one connector smaller than the outer diameter of a projection of the other connector for press fit when the projection is inserted into the through hole and then subjected to caulking. CONSTITUTION:When a projection 2 provided on a connector of one cell extends through a through hole 4 in a partition 3 of an accumulator tank and a through hole 6 provided in the other connector 5 and subjected to caulking, the diameter D1 of the projection 2 is made equal to or larger than that D2 of the through hole 6 for the connector 5 by diameter ratio of D1 to D2, 1.2-1.3:1. Since portions of the projection 2 and through hole 6 are formed by lead alloy, they are readily transformed by pressure so that the projection 2 is press fitted into the through hole 6. Thus, final caulking or arc flame in welding both projection and through hole does not affect the partition 3, but provides positive connection with excellent liquid tightness.
