Abstract
PURPOSE: To economically and efficiently remove organic and inorganic material using a simple operation by circulating, as seed, crystals and, a solution contg. dissolved organic material produced in the process of precipitating crystalline impurities from sodium aluminate solution.
CONSTITUTION: The tank 2 is used to precipitate organic material, such as sodium oxalate, and inorganic material, such as vanadium and phosphorus. From pipe 1, a sodium aluminate solution contg. organnic and inorganic material introduced from the process of precipitating aluminum hydroxide is charged in the tank 2. From the pipe 3, seed crystal is added to the tank 2. In the tank 2, the organic and inorganic material in the sodium aluminate solution is precipitated on the seed crystal or as new crystal. The organic and inorganic crystals are devided in the devider 7 and introduced into the dissolving tank 10. From the pipe 11, an aqueous unsaturated sodium oxalate solution is charged in the tank 10, in such an amount that it dissolves 10W50wt% of the organic material newly precipitated on the seed crystal in the tank 2, so that the contents contact with each other. In the tank 10, impurities are dissolved leaving crystals, which form slurry with an aqeuous solution contg. the impuritier; the slurry is circulated for use as seed crystal.
