Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure the automatic correction for the distortion of the picture image produced through the zoom lens and thus obtain the video output free from the picture distortion at all times, by detecting the variation amount of the focal length of the zoom lens and then varying the correction amount of the deflection system based on the above variation amount. CONSTITUTION:The focal length of zoom lens 1 is varied by turning the potentiometer 2. While the output voltage of potentiometer 2 is supplied to function generator 3 which is controlled so as to secure the coincidence with the distortion property of lens 1 which is measured preveiously. The signal featuring the amount proportional to the distortion of lens 1 and delivered from generator 3 is supplied to deflecting circuit 4 to be used as the control voltage for the linearity and the deflection size. Then the corrected deflecting current is flowed to deflection coil 5, and the picture image having some distortion is formed on the photoelectric conversion screen of pickup tube 6 via the lens system. Thus the video output can be obtained with the reduced amount of distortion.
