Abstract

CONSTITUTION: The black liquor jetting out from an oscillator 2 sticks to the area ranging from the lower part of an empty tube 1b to the inner wall of a furnace substrate 1a and is dried there, and then falls down to form a char-bed 4. Under the condition, inactive gas, for example, the exhaust gas discharged from the furnace and removed of dust, is jetted out from an inactive-gas port 8. The inactive gas thus jetted out is convected through the space S formed between the inner wall of furnace substrate 1a and the char-bed 4, preventing erosive gas containing sulfur from touching the furnace wall. In addition, this inactive gas performs cooling for char 3 having stuck to the furnace wall, thus preventing the char 3 from burning on the wall.
