Abstract

PURPOSE: To restrict axial movement of a pinion using simple arrangement by a method wherein the radially outside end face of a piston is formed with a projected engagement portion, and the inside periphery of a pinion is formed with the recessed engagement portion which engages the projected engagement portion.
CONSTITUTION: The radialy outise end face of a piston 41 is formed with a projected engagement portion 41a consisting of a part of a sphere, while the inside periphery of a pinion 43 is formed with an annular groove-shaped recessed engagement portion 44a which extends in the circumferential direction and of which the cross section has a larger radius of curvature than the portion 41a. The portions 41a and 44a are engaged with each other. Even upon a slight axial movement of the pinion 43, the centripetal action of the positions 41a and 44a gives a steady force to the pinion 43 for returning it to a predetermined position, so that the axial movement of the pinion 43 is restricted.
