Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent slackening due to temperature rise and facilitate assembly and disassembly by a method wherein a portion of a journal portion end face perpendicular to an axis is joined to a portion of a shaft end face also perpendicular to the axis, and the joint portion is fastened with a bolt and a nut.
CONSTITUTION: A screw portion 2b of a shaft 2 is inserted in the central hole 1d of a journal portion 1a, and a nut 5 is engaged with the portion 2b, a spring 6 being interposed between the nut 5 and an internal end face 1e of the portion 1a. An inside cylindrical surface 2a of the shaft 2 is snugly fitted with an outside cylindrical surface 1c of the ceramic journal 1a, and concentricity is secured so that the deviation between the two elements lies within allowable limits. An end face 2e of the shaft 2 is in close contact with a journal end face 1f. Such provision of the metal shaft 2 with a screw portion overcomes inconveniences arising from brittleness of ceramic material. Further, even when the ceramic side is heated to high temperatures, the presence of a cavity 1b reduces heat transfer to the shaft 2, increasing resistance to heat.
