Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve cooling efficiency of refrigerant, by applying ionic wind caused by corona discharge or corona field to the refrigerant in a cooling line for cooling the working gas of a heat engine through heat exchange. CONSTITUTION:An expansion machine 2 feeds hot working gas from a heater 14 and exhausts to a cooler 17 for turning a crankshaft 9. This turning moment is partly used for running a compressor 4 which compresses cool gas from the expansion machine 2 for exhausting to the heater 14. The cooler 17 cools the gas by means of an external cooling device and ionic wind is also added to refrigerant flow, thanks to high tension introduced from a high tension generator 20 through a rectifier 21 and high tension cable 22, for quick cooling of the gas.
