Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the cooling efficiency of a coolant in a multiplicational manner, by providing a discharge line in a cooler to produce an ion wind or corona electromagnetic field which is mixed into the coolant. CONSTITUTION:A high voltage is applied to a discharge line 9 from a transformer 12 through a rectifier 11 and an insulated cable 10 to produce an ion wind or corona electromagnetic field which is mixed in the flow direction of air in a casing 1a. One end 6a of a heat pipe 6 is sharply cooled to improve the cooling effect of a cooling liquid 3 which is based on a working liquid 8. The ion wind or corona electromagnetic field produced by the discharge line 9 is mixed into the flow of the working liquid 8 to accelerate the heat transfer of the working liquid 8 to improve its cooling efficiency in a multiplicational manner.
