Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the revolution ununiformity of a stepped shaft and improve the degree of true roundness and that of true straightness by making the frictional characteristics of an axis with a number of steps in an adjusting wheel differ.
CONSTITUTION: When the adjusting wheel 2 rotates, is driven, and is sent to the griding wheel 3, the stepped shaft 1 is pushed by the grinding wheel 3 and notches are given. The stepped shaft 1 is supported by the support bench 5 and rotates and the respective axes 1a and 1b are simultaneously centerlessly formed and grinded by the respective axes 3a and 3b of the grinding wheel 3. In this case, the large diameter section 1b of the stepped shaft 1 has a small frictional force between it and the axis 2b of the adjusting wheel, it slides. Since the small diameter section has a large frictional force between it and the axis 2a of the adjusting wheel, it does not slide, is braked, and rotates at the same speed of the adjusting wheel 2. The stepped shaft 1 rotates without revolution ununiformity and its degree of true roundness and that of true straightness are improved.
