Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently oxidize and decompose an organic phosphorus compound into an inorganic phosphorus compound when waste water containing the organic phosphorus compound resulting from the manufacturing or agricultural chemicals or the like is treated by activated sludge, by prescribing the NaCl concentration of the waste water.
CONSTITUTION: When waste water containing an organic phosphorus compound resulting from the manufacturing of agricultural chemicals or the like is treated by activated sludge, the NaCl concentration of the waste water is adjusted to 1% or less by using a dilution method, a dialysis method or an ion exchange resin and the organic phosphorus compound is then treated at a pH level of 6W7 by the activated sludge. The organic phosphorus compound is thus oxidized and decomposed finally into PO4 3-, which is removed by a conventional method.
