Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid torque ripple of a brushless DC motor by storing information of accurate sine wave signals in memories, reading the stored information responsive to the rotational speed of a rotor and the magnetic field from a rotor magnet and forming an electric current flowing through the stator coil.
CONSTITUTION: Information corresponding to the positive half cycle duration of a sine wave is stored in the state that the phases are different at 90° each other in memories 20 and 21. The zero crossing point signal CS4 of the rise of magnetic field is obtained from a magnetic field signal ES outputted from a Hall element 27 disposed at the position in the same phase as an electrical angle of a stator coil 4 to reset counters 25, 26. The counters 25, 26 count the rotational speed signal PFG of the rotor to designate the addresses of the memories 20 and 21. The information read from the memories 20 and 21 is supplied through a pulse duration modulator circuit to stator coils 4, 5.
