Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent water infiltration into the underground power generation plant due to leakage at the check valve by checking reverse current with an automatic valve adapted to be closed by the generated signal produced whenever such current occurs in the drain pipe in the safety device of the drainer within the plant.
CONSTITUTION: Water in a drain pit 3 within the power generation plant is drained into the flood way through a discharge pipe 10 by means of a drain pump 5, which is controlled with a water level relay 9. A check valve 7 is provided in the course of the discharge pipe 10 to check any reverse current to the drain pit 3 from the flood way 2. In addition, whenever a leakage occurs from the check valve 7, a reverse current detector 15 provided between the drain pump 5 and the check valve 7 detects the reverse current from the flood way 2 and the signal activates a valve motor 14 to close an automatic valve 13. Thus, the reverse current from the discharge passage 2 is interrupted.
