Abstract

PURPOSE: To treat sludge simply at site as well as enable dryer to be loaded on vehicles by a system in which dehydrated sludge cake and quick lime are charged into a rotary drum by vacuum suction and mixed by rotation under a reduced pressure to dry it by the reaction heat of quick lime.
CONSTITUTION: The dehydrated sludge cake from the hopper 1 and quick lime from the tank 3 are charged into the rotary drum 6 through the suction pipe 5. One end of the drum 6 is connected to the exhaust pipe 9 and also the other end is connected to the blower 10 through the dust collector 21 and the water-washing tower 20. And, another water-washing tower 20 is provided on the exhaustion side of the blower. The inside of the blower is sealed by water in order to prevent the invasion of dust and also to raise its exhaustion capacity. The sludge dried inside the rotary drum goes out of the hatch 14, falls down the hopper, and then is discharged through the chute 19.
