Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the degradation in dehydration efficiency in the natural dehydrating part of a screw press type dehydrator and to reduce the water content of dehydrated cake by heating only the pressure dehydrating part without heating said natural dehydrating part thereby performing dehydration treatment.
CONSTITUTION: An org. high polymer flocculating agent is added to org. sludge under agitation and the mixture is charged through a charge port 1. A screw shaft 6 is revolved slowly, and a heating gas such as steam is flowed through an air feed pipe 10. In this case, the heating gas does not contact with the space part 11a of the dehydrator and the flocculated sludge in a natural dehydrating part A is not heated, thus the water content that coexists in the sludge and is relatively easy to remove is removed efficiently. The flocculated sludge reduced of the water content in this way arrives at a pressure dehydrating part B where it is heated for the first time to make the water easier to ooze out. The residual water oozes out through filter holes 9 and the dehydratd cake is discharged through a discharge port 2.
