Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of output at the rise of acceleration and improve acceleration characteristics, by stopping the change of ignition time when the accelerating condition of the engine is detected and maintaining the ignition time at a fixed value over a specified period. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with control device 12, which inputs a pulse (POS pulse) produced at every rotation of shaft 4 of engine 2, a pulse (REF pulse) produced at every 120 deg. rotation (in the case of 6 cylinders) of shaft 4, voltage VC, which expresses the suction negayive pressure, and battery voltage VB. This control device is provided with a step which produces an acceleration signal based on the digital signals of the foregoing signals showing the condition of driving and obtained by means of an A/D converter, and a step which holds the ignition time for a specified period at the time when an acceleration signal is produced, and a step which brings the ignition time close to the value calculated based on the digital input signal after a specified period has elapsed.
