Abstract

PURPOSE: To properly control a transient ignition timing for an improved operation performance by varying an integral time constant according to an error between a required value and an actual value of an ignition timing, or varying speeds of an operation variable related to the error.
CONSTITUTION: A counter 105 sends an actual value of an ignition timing from a crank angle sensor 21 to a DA converter 106 and a differential amplifier 108. A required value calculating circuit 107 determines the most applicable required value IT5 of the ignition timing from a unit pulse IS3 and a sleeve position signal IS9 to output. A variable time constant integrator 109 automatically varies an integral time constant according to an error ΔIT. Based on an ignition timing control signal OS5, an electro-magnetic valve 54 is closed or opened to perform a duty control. As the ignition timing is properly controlled at an abrupt acceleration deceleration, purification of an exhaust gas or an operation performance may be improved.
