Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve high-temp. resistance, sulfurization resistance, molten-salt- corrosion resistance, and to prevent the breakage, by coating a grate material made of cast iron contg. specific quantities of Cr and C with Al. CONSTITUTION:To a 50% Fe-50% Al powder is added 5% NH4Cl as a diffusion accelerator, and equal quantity of Al2O3 powder as a sintering preventing agent to form a compound. Grate material made of cast iron contg. 13-30% Cr, 0.3-0.5% C is buried in the compound and is sealed tightly, then it is kept at a temp. 800- 1,000 deg.C for 5-10hr. Hereby, a layer contg. Al not less than 30% is obtained on the surface of grate material. The layer is about 100mum in thickness, exhibiting a hardness of muHV 200-300.
