Abstract
PURPOSE:To refuse any gap between the belt and the casting wheel on purpose to prevent the outward leakage and scatter of the molten metal, by giving a high tension to the belt while the pour of the molten metal is being interrupted, and by loosening the tension of the belt after starting the pour of the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:While the casting wheel 19 and the belt 5 are being stopped before starting the pour of the molten metal, the tension of the belt 5 is tightened by the entry side belt cylinder 9 or the tension cylinder 23. After starting the pour of the molten metal, the tension of the belt 5 is loosened, and the casting wheel 19 and the belt 5 are turned. Hereby, the elongation of the belt 5 due to the power of the molten metal or the thermal expansion is absorbed, so that the outward leakage and scatter of the molten metal can be prevented.
