Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance both the response properties and the measurement accuracy by obtaining the optical rotational angle through the electric process. CONSTITUTION:The following units are arranged in connection onto the optical path of light source 1: polarizer 4; Faraday cell 5 connected by oscillator circuit 6; light detector 8; detector 9 consisting of photoelectric multiplier 9 and connected by amplifier 11 for 2fHz and detector control circuit 12; preamplifier 10; amplifier 13 for fHz; synchronous rectifier circuit 14; and voltage indicator 15 each. Thus the light sent from light source 1 undergoes the linear polarization, and then the polarizing face is vibrated by the radian of + or -8 angle, frequency fHz and the sine waveform each to make sample 7 transmit. The sample is then supplied to detector 9 via light detector 8 orthogonal to polarizer 4 and converted into the electric signals to be indicated to indicator 15 in the form of the optical rotational angle and after amplification and the synchronous rectification.
