Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound having excellent stability to all metals, by the addition of 3-methyl-1-butyn-3-ol, nitromethane and a small amount of acrylamide to 1,1,1-trichloroethane.
CONSTITUTION: 1,1,1-Trichloroethane is stabilized by adding 2.0W5.0% (by weight), based on 1,1,1-trichloroethane, of 3-methyl-1-butyn-3-ol and 0.1W2.0% of nitromethane (3.0W5.0% in total), and further adding 0.001W0.1% of acrylamide as the third component. In addition, conventional stabilizers such as vic-monoepoxide and nitroalkanes, can also be added besides the three components described above.
EFFECT: Economical and highly safe stabilization method.
USE: Degreasing and cleaning of metals, etc.
