Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain 1,1,1-trichloroethane which shows excellent stability to all metals, by the addition of allyl glycidyl ether as a co-stabilizer to 1,1,1-trichloroethane stabilized with a stabilizer.
CONSTITUTION: 1,1,1-Trichloroethane is stabilized by adding a stabilizer against aluminum and its alloys, [e.g. 2.0W5.0wt%, based on 1,1,1-trichloroethane, of 3- methyl-1-butyn-3-ol and 0.1W2.0% of nitromethane, wherein the sum of the both compounds is 3W5%], and further adding 0.01W5% of allyl glycidyl ether as a co- stabilizer. Conventional stabilizers, vic-monoepoxide and nitroalkanes, and, moreover, antioxidants can also be added besides the three components described above.
USE: Degreasing and cleaning of metals, etc.
