Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a compact and cheap cleaner comprising means for discharging a recording medium liquid from an outlet orifice when a recording head is reset and a recovery tank having a port for recovering the liquid and another port for rubbing off the liquid adhering around the outlet orifice. CONSTITUTION:In a compact electronic desk calculator or the like employing an ink jet recording head, the head 1 is placed in a reset position shown by a dotted line in Fig. when printing is stopped. At that time, a recording medium liquid is forcibly discharged from the recovery port 13 of a recovery tank 12 by manual operation or electric signal. When the recording head 1 starts moving to a print- scanning region, the recording medium liquid adhering around an outlet orifice 11 is rubbed off by a liquid absorber 15 fitted in a rubbing-off port 14 adjacent to the recovery port 13.
