Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent surely strength irregularity in the outer circumference of coil by a method wherein rolling reduction in austenite recrystallization zone and in austenite uncrystallization zone is made above 60% in the porduction of hot rolled coil comprising hot-rolling a steel material containing Nb, V, cooling it with water and winding up it.
CONSTITUTION: Steel materials containing C 0.03W0.20%, Si<0.50%, Mn 0.8W 2.0% and Nb 0.05W0.10% and/or V 0.005W0.15%, are rough-rolled and finishing- rolled by a hot strip mill in order to produce steel strip. In this case, rolling reduction above 60% in austenite recrystallization zone is given to the steel to finely divide recrystallized austenite grain. Rolling reduction above 60% in austenite uncrystallization zone is also given to steel to introduce deformation zone into austenite grain. Unniformity in quality is prevented in which yield strength, tensile strength and yield ratio in the outer circumference of coil are unusually greater than those in the central part of the coil when the strip is wound into the coil.
