Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent lowering of uniform mixability of two or more kinds of metal powders due to mechanical vibration, etc. by uniformly mixing the powders with a difference in magnetizability; filling the mixt. into a capsule made of nonmagenetic substance; and carrying out magnetization from the inside or outside of the capsule.
CONSTITUTION: At least two kinds of metal powders with a difference in magnetizability due to a difference in particle size, compsn., etc. are charged into capsule 1 made of nonmagnetic material such as glass or plastics. By putting magnet 2- contg. pipe 3 made of nonmagnetic material in capsule 1 or supplying a current to coils 6 outside capsule 1, the metal powder in capsule 1 is magnetized. Next, vibration of tapping, etc. is applied to enhance the filling rate. Magnetized metal powder 4 and nonmagnetic or weakly magnetic powder 5 are not moved or separated by vibration, thus holding uniform mixability. The mixt. is then subjected to hot hydrostatic pressing to obtain a superior sintered product with no defect such as component segregation, etc.
