Abstract
PURPOSE:To extend the dynamic range by selecting the attenuator depending on the input signal level. CONSTITUTION:The signal incoming to the antenna 1 is inputted to the detector 8 via the ON-OFF attenuator 2, high frequency amplifier 3, mixer 4, intermediate frequency amplifier 6, ON-OFF attenuator 7, and the detected output is outputted to the output terminal 9. A part of the output of the detector 8 is picked up, and the attenuator driver 12 is driven with the output compared with the reference level 10 at the comparator 11, controlling the ON-OFF attenuator 2. The comparison output of the comparator 11 is also fed to the signal inverter 13, and the inverted output controls the ON-OFF attenuator 7 via the attenuator driver 14. When the detected output of the detector is smaller than the reference level, the attenuator 2 is OFF and the attenuator 7 is ON. When it is greater than the reference level, the condition is converse.
