Abstract

PURPOSE: To give steering feeling similar to that of passenger car, by detecting the real steering angle and controlling through a servoamplifier and a vehicle speed detector a miniature motor directly coupled to a steering wheel shaft to apply a restoring force for straight motion.
CONSTITUTION: A steering driver 10 including the miniature motor is mounted on the steering wheel shaft. A real steering angle detector 11 including a potentiometer 31 is installed near a lever 8. The vehicle speed V is detected by the vehicle speed detector 20 mounted on the output shaft of a transmission 13. When the vehicle speed is lower than a set level Vs, the miniature motor 23 is not operated. When the vehicle speed is not lower than the set level, the miniature motor is rotated by the output voltage E of the servoamplifier 20 corresponding to the vehicle speed V and the real steering angle θ to rotate the steering wheel shaft 27 to make the real steering angle θ zero.
