Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain resistor having excellent impulse current resistance characteristics, as well as small in leakage current, by adding a specific amount of Bi, Co, Mn, Cr, Si, Ni, and zinc borosilicate glass or zinc alumiborosilicate glass to ZnO.
CONSTITUTION: A raw material consisting of ZnO as the main component, 0.1 to 3.0 mol % Bi(as Bi2O3), 0.05 to 3.0 mol % Co(as Co2O3), 0.05 to 3 mol % Mn(as MnO2), 0.1 to 5 mol % Sb(as Sb2O3), 0.02 to 3.0 % Cr(as Cr2O3), 0.05 to 5.0 mol % Si(as SiO2), and 0.1 to 5.0 mol % Ni(as NiO) is mixed with 0.01 to 1.0 wt % zinc borosilicate glass or zinc alumiborosilicate glass, containing 35 to 60 wt % Zn(as ZnO) and then baked at 1100 to 1300°C.
