Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the hydraulic efficiency of a hydraulic turbine and to eliminate the difference in performance between a model hydraulic turbine and an actual hydraulic turbine by preventing accumulation of boundary layer fluid to form a low energy region in the runner for the turbine having a shroud ring.
CONSTITUTION: In the structure of a hydraulic turbine composed of a runner vane 1, a shroud ring 2, a crown 3, and a guide vane 4, a cut out 9 is, for example, formed at the portion of the ring 2 at the fluid outlet side 6 from a line 5 connected from the rear end of one runner vane 1a to the site in the shortest distance to the back surface of other runner vane 1b adjacent to the vane 1a. According to such a configuration, the boundary layer fluid can be discharged from specified portion of the ring 2 where the boundary layer fluid carried by the secondary flow within the runners is easily accumulated. Accordingly, it can improve the power and efficiency of the turbine and also eliminate the difference in performance between the model and the actual hydraulic turbines.
