Abstract

PURPOSE: Tubes of tetrafluoroethylene resin heated in a specific temperature range are brought into contact with contact means having projection and then rapidly cooled, thus producing title grooved tubes with high flexibility.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of a tetrafluoroethylene resin and a liquid lubricant is charged into die and cylinder 10 whose inner diameter is determined by center mandrel 12 and extruded by falling ram 13 into tube 2. After the liquid lubricant is removed, the tube is introduced into furnace 1 and heated to a temperature higher than the crystalline melting point and contacted with contact means 3 having projection that is supported by supporter 4 and controlled by rotating gear 5 when the temperature lowers, after it comes out of furnace 1, in a range from the start of crystal formation to the completion of formation of all crystals to form continuously groove 9 on the surface of tube 2.
