Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a superior anodic oxide film on a predetermined copper-contg. Al alloy without lowering the strength of the alloy by re-soln.-heat-treating the alloy in a specific temr. range followed by anodic oxidation, hardening and tempering.
CONSTITUTION: A copper-contg. Al alloy subjected to soln. heat treatment and natural aging is re-coln.-heat-treated at 350W450°C, followed by anodic oxidation, hardening and tempering. By this method the resulting anodic oxide film has superior characteristics, and the strength of the alloy does not lower.
