Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an air cooler, in which an electric heater is disposed at a heat- sensitive section of an expanding means in heat-exchanging manner, and overheating of evaporator is controlled by adjusting the capacity of said heater on the basis of difference between the room temperature and a pre-set room temperature, whereby occurrence of "cold draft" can be prevented.
CONSTITUTION: The cooling system of this invention is designed such that overheating of cooling medium at the outlet of evaporator 1 is, for instance, 10°C when expanding means 2 itself begins to open and 1W3°C when the means 2 is fully opened. As room temperature Tr is lowered, difference between the room temperature Tr and a pre-set room temperature Td becomes small. Here, arrangement is such that, output of heater H is reduced with decreasing of said temperature difference, overheating of gas at heat-sensitive section 3 is reduced gradually to 30W 10°C. Therefore, temperature of cooling medium at the outlet of evaporator 1 is not changed substantially, although evaporation temperature is lowered gradually, and overheating of cooling medium is gradually increased. Resultantly, amount of evaporated cooling medium is reduced and overheated region in evaporator 1 is enlarged, so that cooler capacity at the evaporator 1 is lowered. Thus, temperature of air supplied into the room is not lowered, so that occurrence of "cold draft" can be prevented.
