Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable an expansion valve to be used in a wide range and enable sufficient cooling faculty to be developed even in extreme decrease in outside temperature.
CONSTITUTION: In a refrigerating circuit constituted by connecting in consecutive order a compressor 1, condenser 2 which exchanges heat with outside air, expansion valve 3, and an evaporator 4 for cooling inside air, by means of pipes, said expansion valve 3 is a thermo-system automatic expansion valve having a temperature sensing cylinder 5 as controlling element which senses the temperature of coolant at the exit of the evaporator 4, and an electrical heater 8 is attached to the temperature sensing cylinder 5. The heater 8 is connected with a temperature sensor 10 which senses outside temperature, for example with an electric power source 9 which increases and decreases output according to the variation of resistance of a thermistor. When the outside temperature lowers and the amount of circulating coolant decreases, the heat generation output of the heater 8 is increased according to the lowering of the outside temperature, and the overheat set value of the expansion valve 3 is decreased, and the stroke amount of the valve is increased, and the circulation amount of the coolant is increased.
