Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the construction of an atomizer by providing grooves and piercing holes on the blade wheel of a spiral blower.
CONSTITUTION: A blade rib 25 constituted of blade grooves 26 formed of an annular rib 25a and radial ribs 25b is provided on a blade wheel 23 of a spiral blower 21. Space 29 between a boss 27 and the annular rib 25 is connected to the blade grooves 26 by holes 28 piercing through the annular rib 25. A liquid fuel supply tube 33 is opening adjacent to the annular rib 25 in the space 29 opposite the blade wheel 23. When the blade wheel 23 rotates in the direction of the arrow (a), a circulating flow (b) is generated in each blade groove 26 so that the air drawn in through an intake 31 repeats circulating through the blade grooves 26 while the pressure is raised and delivered through an outlet 32. The liquid fuel introduced into the space 29 is caused to flow into the blade grooves 26 through the holes 28 by the centrifugal force and atomized to be mixed and to be further atomized with the circulating air flow in the blade groove 26, then delivered through the outlet 32.
