Abstract

PURPOSE: To form the true sphere depending on the surface tension without forming the oxide coat over the surface of the metallic grain, and to maintain a high productive efficiency and a high yield of the product, by causing the metallic grain to fall down in the high temperature zone and the low temperature zone of the homogeneous liquid phase successively, vertically, without contacting with the air.
CONSTITUTION: The molten metal 1 is transferred into the injection crucible 6 by the pump 5, and falls down onto the rotary disk 9 being rotated by the motor 8, through the nozzle 7. This molten metal 1 is injected through the cutting hole 10 for forming a molten metal grain 12 of a fixed weight. Within the forming vessel 18, a homogeneous liquid phase 17 is prepared by the heater 16, being constituted of the high temperature zone maintained at a temperature higher than the melting point of the molten metal 1, and of the low temperature zone maintained at a temperature lower than above temperature or at the solidifying point of the molten metal 1, so as to continue these zones from upside to downside; the molten metal grain 12 falls down in this homogeneous liquid phase 17 according to the gravitational force, being formed into a true sphere at the high temperature liquid phase zone, and solidifying at the low temperature liquid phase zone; after that, thus obtained metallic balls are piled up on the bottom.
