Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an easily pulverizable flux consisting of MnO, SiO2, B2O3, CaO, Fe2O3, FeO, which is low in phosphorus content, and is used pref. in sintering powder iron ore.
CONSTITUTION: 10W30 % MnO, 30W50 % SiO2, 2W4 % B2O3, ≤5 % CaO, the remainder being Fe2O3+FeO.
EFFECT: The flux contains harmful phosphorus lower than conventional flux, and is easily pulverizable, contributing to improvement in product yield, and to decrease in coke consumption per unit product.
