Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an easy-to-remove-dust filter for a vacuum cleaner by improving the density gradient of synthetic resin fiber filter material.
CONSTITUTION: This filter is composed by attaching a non-woven short fibroid layer 2 of comparatively thin fiber onto the dust collecting side of a non-woven fibroid layer 1 of comparatively thick fiber using an adhesive 3 with air-passing characteristic. Prior to being attached to the layer 1, the layer 2 is given thermal compression process in order to provide it with the density gradients of the delicate layer 4 and the rough (or coarse) layer 5 toward the fibroid layer thickness direction. In this structure, dust is mostly captured on the surface of the layer 4 and, besides, the dust having entered a coarse layer 5 of the layer 2 is collected by a fine layer 4 of the layer 2 for the most part, and therefore, an extremely small volume of dust is captured in the inside of the layer 1. This improves efficiency of exfoliation of dust from the filter as well as the dust collecting efficiency. Further, if the later 5 is provided with a shaggy surface, the pressure increase is minimized and dust collecting efficiency is improved without causing any change to the dust exfoliating efficiensy.
