Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve a collecting efficiency by collecting dust corresponding to its particle size and to prolong a filter life, by compressing partially an aggregate of fibers having a comparatively uniform density in order to give said body a density variation between the inlet and outlet sides of gas.
CONSTITUTION: A filter of large effective volume is formed by compressing an aggreate of fibres F consisting of laminated body of nonwoven fabrics etc. in order to give a density, increasing with the direction from outside to inside of the filter. Dust of large particle size is collected at the outside section X and small size at the inner side section Z, while dust-containing air is flowing from outside to inside of the filter.
