Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a contact apparatus described in the title, of remarkably large ratio of packed bubbles, the apparatus which is so constituted that gas is blown from a gas blow-pipe against the underside of revolvable discs installed in liq. at the base. CONSTITUTION:An upper disc 5 is fixed horizontally to the upper end of a revolvable shaft 2 near the bottom of a gas/liq. contact reactor 1, and a middle disc 6 and a lower disc 7 are arranged horizontally below the upper disc 5 with respective intervals in order. The discs 6, 7 are mounted on the revolvable shaft concentrically, and are fixed with a number of support arms arranged radially. Gas-blowing inlet installed at upper end of the gas-blow pipe 3 surrounding the revolvable shaft 2 is located at a level lower than the underside of the lower disc 7. When gas is blown from the gas-blow pipe 3 against the disc surfaces nearly at right angles while the discs 5, 6, 7 revolving at a high speed, the gas is made into fine bubbles, increasing remarkably the ratio of packed bubbles.
