Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the improvement in coating film strength and solvent resistance by surface polishing the coating film obtained by spin coating megnetic coating on an alumina substrate then heat treating the same thereby causing polymerization reaction and hardening the film.
CONSTITUTION: A thermosetting resin such as of epoxy, phenol or acrylic base, magnetic powder of gamma-iron oxide or the like and thinner are mixed and kneaded. The mixture is then spin coated on an aluminum substrate, whereby the thin coating film is formed. In this state, the film is subjected to orientaion treatment and is heat set and further the coating film surface is polished down to a specified film thickness and is thereby smoothed. Thereafter, a solution of aromatic hydrocarbon such as toluene, xylene or the like is spin coated on the polished coating film surface, which is then heat treated and the excess hardener is wiped away. Then, the unreacted portions of the coating film surface cause polymerization reaction and harden, by which the coating film strength may be increased and solvent resistance improved.
