Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the ease of assembly of equal speed joint outer part and the its functional reliability by making frictional welding between the spider holding portion and the stem portion and then by forming a conical face at the bonding portion by cutting off fins. CONSTITUTION:The spider holding portion 30 for the spider 60 and the stem portion 40 provided with a cylindrical portion on its welding side end portion are subjected to a frictional welding with a total lay of more than 8 mm. At this time, the deformed portion 51 is projected on the hole 32 side at the bottom 31 of the spider holding portion 30, and the fin 52 is produced on the inside diameter side of the cylindrical portion 21 of the stem portion 40. And, the fin 53 is produced between the spider holding portion 30 and the stem portion 40, and the fin 54 is produced on the outside diameter side of the cylindrical portion 41 of the stem portion 40. The deformed portion 51 and the fins 52, 53, and 54 are cut off at the same time of form the conical form 55 at the bonding position between the spider holding portion 30 and the stem portion 40. Thus, it is possible to obtain equal speed joint outer part with stable quality with good workability.
