Abstract
PURPOSE: The title composition having improved impact strength, releasability, fluidity, and injection modability, and a high heat distortion temperature, with little breaking of glass fibers, comprising polyethylene terephthalate, glass fibers covered with a vinyl polymer, a release agent, and talc.
CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising (A) a glass fiber-containing polymer in an amount of 5W30 wt.% calculated as glass fibers, (B) 0.05W0.2 wt. % of a release agent, (C) 0.5W4.5 wt.% of talc incorporated into polyethylene terephthalate, and (D) polyethylene terephthalate. The polymer (A) is obtained by suspension polymerization of vinyl monomers in the system containing bundled chopped strands of glass fiber, 20μ or less in diameter and 2W10 mm in length, to give a glass fiber content of 20W90 wt.%, preferably 50W90 wt.%.
