Abstract

PURPOSE: To form an odd-shaped object easily by the subject method which uses an inner and an outer capsules, by making the inner capsule following the object form, of low priced material which is decomposed by heat, and filling the capsule with the powder to be processed.
CONSTITUTION: An outer capsule 1 is made in a comparatively simple form, of metals or glass, and an inner capsule 2 is made in a complicated form following an object form, of polyethylene, vinyl chloride, etc., so that it may be decomposed at HIP temperatures. Into the inner capsule 2, processed powder 4 (metallic alloy, ceramic, etc.) is packed, and refractory powder 3 is filled between the two capsules. As the refractory powder, alumina, glass, salt powder, etc. are used. The capsules are then tightly sealed, and all these are processed under the atmosphere of high temperature and high pressure. The capsule 2 is decomposed and the article of object form is obtained.
