Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the repaired portion with corrosion-resisting-property better than that of the parent pipe, by inserting the backing core into the pipe end, previously expanded and welded to joint, of the internally coated steel pipe, and by injecting the repairing material into the ring type chamber formed between the expanded portion and the core.
CONSTITUTION: The pipe end of the internally coated steel pipes 1 and 1' are expanded, and the injection pore 2 for the repairing material 5 and the gas vent 3 are installed at the steel pipes 6 and 6' of the expanded portion. The expanded pipe ends 6 and 6' are jointed by welding 8, and then, into which is inserted the backing core 4 where the deflection-preventing-steel-core-material 10 is buried over the internal surface of the unexpanded pipe end. The fluid is pressure sealed into the fluid bags 11 and 11' being held within the both ends of the core 4, so as to press the bags tightly against the internal surface of the unexpanded portion; hereby, the ring type chamber is formed between the expanded pipe end and the core 4. Into this ring type chamber, the repairing material 5 is injected from the injection port 2 so as to be filled up, and this injection is stopped when the repairing material 5 begins to overflow from the gas vent 3. After the repairing material 5 solidifies, the fluid bags 11 and 11' are deflated, the backing core 4 is pulled away, and the repairing work is completed.
